Established in 2000 under the name of [Audiovisual Information Design], this department upgraded its name to the Department of Digital Media Design in 2003. Beginning in 2004, the department began offering Overseas Youth Vocational Training School to Chinese Overseas students to study in Taiwan for two-year terms. 2012 saw the establishment of a master\u2019s program. There are 12 full-time and 22 part-time faculty members. All have a minimum of a Master's degree, and most of them have studied or done research abroad. They have extensive practical experience, are active in academic conferences, publishing papers, exhibiting their own work and participating in academic \/ industrial collaborative innovation. Normally completed in four years, the undergraduate program admits two class cohorts every year; each recruits 60 students and a certain quota of international students. The Overseas Youth Vocational Training Program of Digital Media Design recruits high school graduates or those who have the equivalent of a high school diploma. One such cohort is admitted each year and the period of study is two years. In order to allow students to have multiple choices in diverse fields of study, our department comprises two fields of media studies: interactive media and game design, creative animation and film. The department has ample computer hardware resources, including a 3D Virtual Movie Studio, a Motion Capture Laboratory, Advanced Computer studios, a 2D Animation studio, a Digital Sound Effect Studio, a Puppet Animation Studio, a Graduation Project Workspace, and an Interactive Art Space. Instructors encourage students to participate in design competitions inside the School, as well as in external events. Our students have achieved outstanding results in competitions and have been awarded many prizes by Red Dot Design Award, the Times Young Creative Awards, Young Designers\u2019 Exhibition, 4C Digital Design Awards, Digital Content Contest, and COREL Asia-Pacific Digital Art Competition.<\/p><\/h1><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
